Is it just me or is the PHEV's audio system unimpressive at best?
While most of the higher-end automobiles have a high-end audio option (ie "Galactic audio with a Mark Levinson 18 speaker, 900 watt concert hall acoustics with phase aligned inverse feedback overdrive modules for the ultimate audio experience") but the Accord PHEV has a standard 6 speaker audio system with no option to upgrade.
So far the sound has been underwhelming with no clarity or presence at all. The very same high-bitrate MP3's that sound crystal clear on my home system sound dull and flat in the car. The speed sensitive volume control only seems to muddy the sound quality even further.
It's a bit of a disappointment that in a car this high-tech the audio system is pretty middle of the road. What's more, the ride is otherwise so quiet that a good audio system would have been truly appreciated.
