Engine Information of Honda Accord Plug in Hybrid

Not arguing with you at all... I read that too, and all of the incorrect press that the Accord Plug-in has a CVT! That being said, the e-CVT is not a transmission, in the true definition of a mechanical CVT. And by suggesting that the Accord Plug-in has a CVT, it kind of mis-leads folks from...

Engine Information of Honda Accord Plug in Hybrid

Since everyone seems to refer to the Accord Plug-in having a CVT (or an e-CVT), there needs to be more definition. Here, to get a bit more specific... http://www.greencarreports.com/news/108 ... w-it-works To quote: "The 2014 Honda Accord Hybrid has no transmission. To be more precise...

Engine Information of Honda Accord Plug in Hybrid

I don't think weltonsee4 is correct. There is no continuously variable transmission in the Accord plug-in... it's a clutch that may engage the motor to the electric drive (1:1) at speeds above 45 mph. Under 45 mph, and when accelerating, the electric motor is doing the additional work. - M

Maybe I don't drive as well as I thought...

So now that it's warm, I'm getting 12+ miles on a charge when driving under 50 mph. If I drive around 60-65, I get about 11-12 miles on a charge. Sounds right! What is amazing is you can get MUCH more than 12 miles if you take it slow and easy on back roads or something! I'm also regularly...

    Updates!

So, it's warm out, finally! THIS CAR IS AWESOME! For the last few days, I've been getting in the mid to high 50 mpg (I set it to calculate after every start up). I haven't had anything under 50 since the temp warmed up, and that's just on hybrid mode! I might be driving better, but this is...

Just Purchased Likely One of Last New PHEVs in Southern Cal

Good for you! There are a couple left here in New York as well. - M

ACC is scary when the sensor is blocked...

I had a scary episode the other day where the snow blocked the sensor for the ACC! Things were going fine and then the car suddenly sped up under hard acceleration and I almost hit the guy in front of me! I slammed on the brakes and only then did the car notify me that the sensor was blocked...

    Updates!

How is everyone's Accord PHEV doing? - What is the furthest you've gone on battery and under what conditions? - How is your hybrid mileage (when EV was not used)? Are you getting to 46-50 mpg? - Are you happy with the car? I love mine, but I can't wait for the Spring/Summer! I want to see...

Maybe I don't drive as well as I thought...

Thanks, loeny! I'm hoping I'll see a change during the summer. I did some experiments driving with all the heaters off (seat and cabin) and I do get more miles. - M

Maybe I don't drive as well as I thought...

So, I've been driving my new Plug-in for a bit. I seem to get about 8-9 miles on a full charge, and my average mpg in Hybrid is about 38-40. I've got about 500 miles on the car so far, and I've been playing the bouncing car game (keeping it in the lines for the most part). I used to drive a...

    New 2014 Plug In

As far as I could tell from my searches, there are three left in New York. They're all in the city. There's one south of Queens, which is white, I believe, and then there is one more black one and one grey one. Yeah, Paragon Honda. They didn't charge the vehicle at all, left the charger in a...

    New 2014 Plug In

Hello everyone! I just picked a black one up in Queens NY and drove it home (about 380 miles). VERY nice car! #000939 I did the Honda lease deal. I calculated the final price (not including TTL) to be about $31,000 if I was to buy the car at the residual at the end of the lease. Honda took...
