There are also lots of pictures, including one of the trunk which shows just how much space is used by the battery pack. It's unfortunate that they couldn't put it in a central tunnel like the Volt, but that would have required major re-engineering.
My 2012 Civic Hybrid has the same problem and also lacks the fold down rear seat that the regular Civics have. I bought a good roof rack for hauling long things and installed a trailer hitch to pull my little utility trailer for big things.
