It appears as though Honda went to town adding a few too many tweaks and alterations to make the 2014 Accord Plug-In different to the standard model – restraint would have been a good thing.
Either way, few go out and pick up a plug-in hybrid for Aston Martin looks – what they’re more interested in is of course fuel-economy. According to Honda, the 2014 Accord Plug-In has an ell-electric range of around 13 miles and delivers a superb estimated 115 miles per gallon. Honda’s first foray into a dual-motor system has well and truly hit the nail on the head, with plenty of grunt when needed, refined city driving and seamless transition between electric and gas engines.
If they can just manage to bring the costs down a little, Honda should really thing about using the twin-motor technology in more of their upcoming vehicles.
